#1 Gluten Free Fried Pickles with Easy Vegan Ranch Dipping

Every month my coworkers and I go to play sand volleyball where they have a bar with drinks and food. And every single time, my order includes fried pickles!

Now… I haven’t found a place that makes gluten free fried pickles yet. So I decided to do some playing around to make my own!

Not only are we making some yummy gluten free fried pickles, but we have a super easy and mouthwatering ranch dip thats vegan and homemade.

What Ingredients To Make These

  • Gluten free flour
  • Corn starch
  • Pickles
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Onion powder
  • Garlic powder
  • Smoked paprika or regular paprika
  • Salt
  • Pepper
Homemade Ranch Dip
  • Vegan mayo
  • Dairy-free yogurt (optional)
  • Lemon juice
  • Seasonings: dried dill, garlic powder, onion powder, each salt & pepper

Tips and Variations 🍽️

  • Make our homemade ranch that is the PERFECT pairing for these pickle chips.
  • Use gluten-free panko for an extra-crispy coating.
  • Air Fryer Option: Preheat to 400°F (200°C). Spray pickles with oil and air fry for 8–10 minutes until there’s a slight crisp.
  • Add 1/4 tsp of cayenne pepper to the flour mix for a spicy kick.

Perfectly crispy on the outside and packed with zesty flavor, they’re great for parties, game days, or just satisfying your snack cravings.

This recipe makes about 20 crispy pickle chips, and I’ve included easy frying and air fryer options!

Make these ultimate crispy, crunchy, and totally addictive #1 vegan gluten-free fried pickles with an easy and rich homemade ranch dipping sauce!

Ingredients

  • 20 Dill pickle slices
  • 1/2 cup Gluten free all purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp Apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1/2 tsp Smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp Onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper
  • Olive oil for frying
Vegan Ranch Dip
  • 1/2 cup vegan mayo
  • 2 tbsp dairy-free plain yogurt optional
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp dried dill
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp Salt & Pepper

Instructions

  • Pat pickles dry.
  • Mix chickpea flour, cornstarch, spices. Add water & vinegar to form batter.
  • Heat oil to 350°F.
  • Dip pickles in batter, fry 2–3 min per side until golden.
  • Pat dry and sprinkle cajun salt seasoning and pepper.
  • Add the homemade vegan ranch ingredients together and mix. Ranch is best served cold. If it’s too thick, add one tablespoon at a time of your favorite non dairy milk.
  • Dip the hot fried pickles into the vegan ranch and enjoy!
