Spicy & Savory Gruyere Prosciutto Egg Bites (30 Minute Meals)
If you could have the Starbucks Bacon & Gruyere egg bites everyday, would you? I know I would! However, the Gruyere cheese egg bites Starbucks has would cost me $25 per week, and that’s before ordering a drink.
Here is an easy & savory Gruyere Prosciutto Egg Bites recipe that will save you money and they’re just as tasty!
This recipe is all about eggs in prosciutto cups with gruyere cheese.

Super Simple Ingredients
This recipe is so tasty and so easy to make in the morning before work. If I don’t meal prep and make this on a Sunday evening, I put all the ingredients together and let it bake while I take my morning shower on Monday.
The main ingredients include:
- Eggs
- Prosciutto
- Cottage Cheese (for fluffy egg bites that rise)
- Gruyere Cheese

The gruyere cheese in the picture is super rich in flavor. If you want a more mild flavor for your egg bites, try the Whole Food brand shredded gruyere cheese, it’s lighter but still has a yummy taste. I prefer shredded cheese for this recipe because I do NOT have time to grate my cheese in the morning before work…
How Are These Egg Bites So Healthy?
My Gruyere Prosciutto Egg Bites come packed with flavor and is about 100 less calories than the popular bacon and gruyere egg bites at Starbucks!
How To Make Spicy & Savory Gruyere Prosciutto Egg Bites
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Line the muffin cups with prosciutto, I recommend a half a piece to a full piece per cup.

Blend together the eggs, cottage cheese, and spices. You can use a traditional blender or a hand blender. I used a hand blender.
Pour in the gruyere cheese and mix together.
Fill up to halfway in each muffin cup with the mix. The cottage cheese will make the egg bites rise.
- DO NOT fill the cups all the way! You’ve been warned, lol.

Bake for 20 minutes until the egg has risen and the prosciutto is flaking off the muffin cups. Then, enjoy your delicious Gruyere Prosciutto Egg Bites! I eat 2 for breakfast along with yummy berries or citrusy fruits like orange slices.

- Mixing bowl
- Medium saucepan
- Muffin pan
- Hand Blender or Traditional Blender*

- 6 Eggs
- 4-6 pieces Proscuitto
- 1/3-1/2 cup Gruyere cheese
- 6 tsp Cottage cheese
- 2 tsp Cayenne
- 1 tbsp Garlic powder
- 1/2 tbsp Black pepper
- 2 tbsp Water (optional)*
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Combine the eggs, garlic powder, cayenne, and black pepper in a mixing bowl. Mix until smooth (until you don’t see clumps of cottage cheese)*
- Pour cheese into mixing bowl and mix with a spoon.
- Spray or spread a small amount of oil in each cup.
- Place half a piece of prosciutto to 1 whole piece of prosciutto in each cup.
- Pour the egg mixture into each prosciutto cup until it’s half full. (Keep in mind, the eggs will rise, so do not fill the cup all the way.)
- Place muffin tray in the oven for 20 minutes, or until eggs rise and prosciutto cup is slightly flaky and not sticking to the sides of the cup.
- Enjoy!
Notes
-
- If you do not have a blender, you can mix it together with a spoon but just know there will be some clumps of cottage cheese. It will still be tasty because I’ve made this without a blender as well.
- Water can be added to help make the texture more fluffy, but it is not required.
- Calorie count is an estimate.
